The annual faculty show opened this year with three recent paintings.

I received some good news tonight that my painting, Across the River Same (revisited) has been juried into an upcoming show. Here’s a bit about the Dogwood Arts Festival from their website:
Virginia Intermont College hosts our first Art Walk on November 11, 2011. The event includes artwork from students and faculty in locations across the comfortably walkable campus. Theatre performances of Shakespeare’s The Tempest are also happening the same weekend.
The 2011-12 school year will begin with the exhibition, “Welcome Back, To the Future,” showcasing work by Virginia Intermont’s esteemed art faculty. An array of photography, painting, and sculpture will be on display in the main and photography galleries of the Anne R. Worrell Fine Arts Center on campus.
Opening Feb. 26: “Blend: Emory & Henry Art Faculty Biennial 2011” will be on view in The 1912 Gallery through April 2. Two of my paintings are on view. Consumption of the Virgin and Across the River Same.
“Reunion” will be on display from Oct. 11-29 at Slocumb Galleries in Ball Hall and on Nov. 5 at the Tipton Gallery at 126 Spring St.
This exhibition, opening Oct. 23, is guest-curated by Ray Kass, a painter and writer who lives in New York City and Blacksburg, Virginia, where he is Professor Emeritus of Art at Virginia Tech.
Two of my paintings – Consumption of the Virgin and From Which to Choose – have been juried into Real People ’09. The exhibition will be at the Old Courthouse Arts Center in Woodstock, Illinois.
I’ve been selected for exhibition in Positive/Negative 24. The painting to be shown is entitled From Which To Choose. This piece calls up for discussion the interlocking choices members of a family make, both within and without.

The painting, Some Settling May Occur has been juried into the Halpert Biennial. The show will be on display from July 6 through October 6.
